A Cowboy’s Quilt

When his wife’s dog chewed up the quilt his grandma made for him as a baby, Chris needed something to cuddle up in and he needed it fast! This 80 x 80 quilt was made as simply as possible with him in mind. Because he’s a cowboy in Wyoming, I wanted his quilt to reflect the west, so I used batiks with the famed horse and rider that is also on the license plates, bullriders, bears, paw prints, and buffalo to represent the school where Chris teaches. He asked if the quilt would “have those little diamonds in it,” so I used the Diamond Text quilting panto from Melissa Kelly at Sew Shabby Quilting. Sweet dreams, Chris!

Sweet Success for a Sweet Little Miss

This is the very first quilt I put on my new Innova Mach 24 best friend! My bonus daughter pieced this quilt on our Sisters’ Quilting Weekend last winter.

For the Newlyweds

My bonus daughter picked these purples for her wedding quilt. I like purple, but I’ve never loved it. But I sure am happy with how this quilt turned out. And, thankfully, the bride was delighted, too!

Quilt with reds, whites, grays, and a few blacks in the shape of triangle trees scattered all over.

Holiday Forest in Reds

I loved sewing these quilts for a retreat with great friends! Amy Smart’s pattern Holiday Patchwork Forest was our starting point, but I finagled a way to make some tall skinny trees and some short wide trees. You see, my best friend thought making all the same sizes was too repetitive, and I wanted to surprise her!  I love this quilt in reds and whites. This one is for me!
